Mini Exhibition - Trace monoprints

Mono prints are single one off printed images. There are many techniques used to create mono prints. I like to use the trace mono print technique. This involves painting or rolling ink onto a surface such as plastic or paper, which is then laid, ink down onto another sheet of paper and the image is then drawn onto the top piece of paper, the pressure of the drawing instrument transfeing ink to the first or bottom piece of paper. Due to the technique the results can be somewhat chancy but this adds to the enjoyment of doing the process.

I like working in this medium 1, because it is a drawing based process and 2, because I really like the soft fuzzy character of the line work that can be achieved. It is a quality unique to this technique.

The images displayed here are all printed on photo copy paper or cartridge paper. Although not specifically for sale if there is one you might particularly like to own please feel free to contact me by email, martinart@tpg.com.au and I will get back to you with details of cost, postage etc.
